Share Staycation Experiences in Major Tourism Survey

Motorhome, campervan and camping enthusiasts are being invited to share their holiday experiences in a major new tourism survey.

The national survey aims to build a clearer picture of domestic tourism across the UK. It comes as more travellers choose flexible, affordable and sustainable holidays closer to home.

Researchers want feedback from people returning from camping, touring and holiday park breaks. Their experiences will help shape a major report on the UK’s holiday park and campsite sector.

Survey Will Explore Changing Travel Trends

The UK Caravan and Camping Alliance (UKCCA) launched the survey to gather information about visitor expectations, travel habits and holiday experiences.

Researchers will use the results to examine changing tourism trends. They will also assess the economic and social impact of the holiday park and campsite sector.

The UKCCA brings together several leading organisations. These include the Holiday and Residential Parks Association, the National Caravan Council, the Camping and Caravanning Club, and the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Holiday Prizes Up for Grabs

As an incentive, everyone who completes the survey will enter a prize draw.

Prizes include:

  • A four-night stay at Braithwaite Village Camping and Caravanning Club Site in the Lake District.
  • A three-night Experience Freedom glamping break from the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

The survey takes only a few minutes to complete.

Sector Continues to Support Jobs and Local Communities

The research will contribute to a new industry report examining the value of domestic tourism.

The previous UKCCA report, Pitching the Value, highlighted the sector’s significant contribution to the UK economy.

Published in 2024, the report found that holiday parks and campsites generate £12.2 billion in visitor spending annually.

The sector also contributes £7.2 billion in Gross Value Added and supports more than 226,000 full-time jobs.

Importantly, many of those jobs support rural and coastal communities throughout the UK.

Investment Continues Across the Industry

Despite economic challenges, holiday park operators continue to invest in their businesses.

Many parks are upgrading accommodation, improving facilities and expanding sustainability initiatives.

As a result, the sector remains optimistic about the future of UK tourism.

Holiday parks and campsites also play an important community role. They support local businesses, create employment opportunities and contribute to charitable projects.

Meanwhile, researchers hope the latest survey will reveal what modern holidaymakers value most when planning UK breaks.

How to Take Part

The survey is open now and welcomes responses from recent UK holidaymakers.
