St Lucia Tourist Board – Thanks for Nothing

How many other vacation destinations do you know have been voted “World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination” 8 times by the World Travel Awards?

Just imagine how many more awards it could have won if only the St Lucia Tourist Board did what it is paid to do and helped journalists do their job.

Our trip was completely organised by ourselves and depended totally on the generosity of the hotels we stayed in. Even when asked the St Lucia Tourist Board felt it was unable even to offer ground support so we hired our own car from Sixt who were very generous with their rates

In our opinion Saint Lucia stands apart from the rest of the Caribbean Islands.

This is thanks in part to its varied landscape and diverse culture and cuisine which is distinguished by African, Indian, Caribbean, British, Spanish and French influences.

Only on the island of St. Lucia can you wake up in bed and open your eyes to a view such as Piton Bay. Somehow just lying there gazing at the spectacle even to a symphony of birds and drive through a volcano.

Only on this simply beautiful 238 square-mile island in paradise can you explore so many different things from trekking the Piton Mountains and hiking the Rainforest, to the bathing in the Sulphur Springs of Soufriere or exploring the Caribbean Coral Reef off the beach at Anse Chasternet.

There are many other things we as travel journalists could have done and reported on if only we had more help from the St Lucia Tourist Board
