The tropical Islands of Tahiti are host to a huge range of exciting events every year, and provide ample time to enjoy the waters of the South Pacific.

Spread over five large archipelagos, the Islands of Tahiti provide an attractive backdrop of breathtaking scenery and sparkling waters.

Among the key sailing attractions taking place this year is:

Tahiti Pearl Regatta, 27 April – 3 May 2015
The four day race takes competitors between the islands of Raiatea, Bora Bora, Huahine and Taha’a. The Society and the Tuamotu archipelagos meet all the criteria for an unforgettable sailing holiday, with the island of Raiatea often referred to as the “sailing island”. The friendly competition is open to all types of sailboats from all nationalities.

Festivities begin before the sailors’ departure from Uturoa market on Raiatea, and singing, dancing, and sampling local delicacies continues each evening after the day’s racing. Listen to the ‘tamures’ of the local bands, indulge in traditional barbequed fish, and enjoy the warm sun and vivacious atmosphere of the competition.

With both modern and traditional events on offer, the diverse occasions provide visitors with an opportunity to immerse themselves in Tahitian culture and to celebrate, spectate and participate in festivities ranging from the competitive Billabong Pro Surfing Competition to the lively tradition of Heiva i Tahiti.
