Today sees the London Boat Show celebrate its diamond anniversary as the doors open on the 60th Show.
Tucked away in the east end of London the show is a sad and sorry affair nowadays and a mere shadow of its former glory days when it ranked high among the worlds must attend boat shows.
This year it opens on a Saturday while the traditional Friday Press day has been relegated to Monday 6 January when World, European and UK boat and product launches are expected to be announced.
Throughout the 9-day Show, hundreds of exhibitors will showcase a selection of boats, marine products, accessories, services, clothing ranges, chandlery, electronics, engines.
The show now tries to be an activities based entertainment show designed with the whole family in mind something to suit every taste and budget

Sir Ben Ainslie will relive the momentous victory of the America’s Cup when he joins the Show on Wednesday 8th January and his J.P.Morgan BAR AC45 catamaran will be on display for the full nine days.
