Increasingly, super yachts are choosing to have a chase tender to accompany them and deploy them to travel on their own bottom from port to port.
It was this trend that prompted V Type to design and build of a new range of Hybrid Super Yacht Tenders (HYST) chase boat, using a wide body hull.
Available from 9.5 to 15m the first of this new range has now been built and delivered
Putting their money where their mouth is, the first tender was built in the UK and shipped to Malta from where was delivered by sea to the super yacht Jazz of Monaco as she lay waiting at Monte Carlo.
From Malta to Monte Carlo by chase tender, involves a 7 day duration trip covering nearly 850 nautical miles.
This tender did that trip in challenging conditions that would leave some similar sized yachts still in harbour.
So pleased are they with the performance of the tender that the builder has published a thrilling account of the test voyage and are happy to send it out to all those who ask for it.
Chase tenders need to be tough and robust while being towed or under their own power carrying guests. There is a constant demand on a boat performing this sort of role and there is little room for down time for such a boat.
