Online Yachting TV Channel Launched

The world’s first online TV channel dedicated to the nautical industry has been launched.

CaptainsLounge.TV is played on HD TV screens in crew bars, marinas and yacht clubs across the world as well as being streamed over the internet and available on smart phones and tablets.

Peter Franklin, part of the CaptainsLounge.TV team, explains, “We’re screening high impact boating and lifestyle content together with daily yachting news.  With the focus on visual rather than audio, people can expect footage from regattas, video shoots of the latest tenders, toys and gadgets, walkarounds of current boat shows and more light-hearted outtakes such as yachts being tossed around in wild seas.

Peter continues, “We have had CaptainsLounge.TV running in Mallorca at The Crew Bar in Port Adriano and well visited yachtie watering hole The Corner Bar in Palma since last December.

The trial has proved extremely successful bringing excellent reactions from both customers and bar management.  Now, with Portbooker onboard, we are ready to extend the coverage across the Costa Brava, the South of France, Italian Riviera, Costa del Sol, Gibraltar, the Adriatic and then over the Atlantic.”

Even before official launch, CaptainsLounge.TV contracted various sponsors who will be displaying their digital promotional messages via this massive marketing platform.  These include:

  • Dockwise
  • Complete Marine Freight
  • Marina Moll Vell

All have signed up for the first 12 months.
CaptainsLounge.TV has also been confirmed as the official contracted nautical television partner for the Antibes Yacht Show in April and the Palma Boat Show in May.

At Antibes, CaptainsLounge.TV will be on the famous castle wall with Riviera Radio doing live interviews, reviews and seminar streaming.  In Palma, the same, with the addition of live coverage from the Palma International Yachting Forum.
