Cornell Leaves Top Job at Edmiston

It was at the MYBA Charter Yacht show in Genoa during 2011 that Edmiston & Company named Mark Cornell as its new Chief Executive Officer.  Now just days short of his completing a full year, news comes on the last day of the 2012 show that the position is vacant once again.

The former Senior LVMH Executive had succeeded Nicholas Edmiston, who remained and still is Chairman.

Chairman, Nicholas Edmiston, who will take over executive responsibility for the day to day running of the business, said:  “I am sad to see Mark leave Edmiston, he has made a great contribution to our business since joining and he goes with our best wishes.”

Cornell who had received his MBA from the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1999 was based at their headquarters in Monaco.  His career had spanned many countries, including the UK, USA, France, China and Japan and he told us he would oversee global business for the brand.  He brought with him a decade of brand building experience having previously worked on some of the most prestigious brands in the LVMH portfolio, most recently serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Moet Hennessy USA since 2006.  He told us he was “eager to embark on a more entrepreneurial role with a new set of challenges”.

Nick Edmiston said at the time, “After nearly 15 years at Edmiston, I am excited for the future and look forward to supporting Mark in his post as Chief Executive of the company.”
