Superyacht Crew Olympics Come to Fort Lauderdale

With London hosting the Olympic Games for the rest of the world in August Fort Lauderdale it seems is determined to pip them at the post.


Yacht Chandlers, services providers to superyachts in the area and an IGY Anchor Club Member, has announced that they are bringing Superyacht Crew Olympics to Fort Lauderdale.


 “We wanted to do something special for captains and crew in South Florida to culminate the season with a big bang,” said James James of Yacht Chandlers


On April 1st, the event will take place at Tigertail Lake Recreational Center in Dania Beach from noon to 6pm. Some of the games and activities played will include:

  • Rock wall                                       
  • Paddleboard races
  • Canoe races
  • Tug-of-war
  • Lime-and-spoon race
  • Beach Paddle Ball
  • Windsurfing competition
  • Hobie Cat and Laser races

Transportation to the park will be provided by the Yacht Chandlers van that will pick up captains and crew starting at 10am, making the rounds at The Hilton, Pier 66, Bahia Mar, Sunrise Harbor, Dania Cut and surrounding marinas.


Captains and crew must pre-register for the event by emailing sos@yachtchandlers.com with a team name, vessel name and length, and individual team members’ names.
