Superyacht sales reached 254 transactions during the first nine months of 2026, according to Edmiston. Although the 30–40m segment has softened, sales of yachts above 40m are almost 20% ahead of 2025. Meanwhile, limited availability of quality yachts continues to influence the brokerage market.
Superyacht Market Holds Steady Through Q3
The superyacht brokerage market has remained relatively resilient throughout the first three quarters of 2026. Brokers recorded 254 yacht sales, just 4% below the same period in 2025.
However, quarterly figures reveal a more varied picture. The first quarter outperformed both 2025 and 2024 before activity weakened during Q2.
Indeed, the second quarter recorded the lowest Q2 sales total since 2020. Nevertheless, the market showed signs of improvement over the summer, including a modest recovery in August.
Consequently, overall sales remain close to last year’s levels despite the slower middle part of 2026.
Softer 30–40m Yacht Sales Weigh on Market
The 30–40m segment accounts for the largest share of brokerage transactions. However, sales in this category have fallen approximately 17% compared with the same period in 2025.

This decline has significantly influenced the overall market figures. Nevertheless, the downturn does not extend across every yacht-size category.
Instead, the market’s modest contraction reflects weaker activity within this particular segment. Larger yachts continue to demonstrate considerably stronger sales performance.
Demand for Superyachts Above 40m Remains Strong
The market for yachts exceeding 40m continues to outperform last year. Sales in this category are almost 20% higher than during the first nine months of 2025.
This strength highlights continued demand for larger superyachts. It also provides a clear contrast with the softer 30–40m segment.
However, buyers continue to face limited choice. The number of new yachts entering the market has fallen 15% year on year.
Quality inventory therefore remains an important consideration for buyers and brokers. The challenge becomes particularly apparent among yachts measuring 60–120m, where compelling opportunities remain scarce.

Edmiston reports several notable transactions reflecting this demand. These include the sale of the 67m Feadship Hampshire, alongside confidential deals involving yachts exceeding 75m and 100m.
Furthermore, Edmiston’s brokers sometimes look beyond publicly advertised listings to find suitable yachts. A recent transaction involving a yacht exceeding 75m illustrates this approach.
Recently Delivered Yachts Attract Buyers
Younger yachts are also attracting considerable interest. Brokerage sales involving yachts less than five years old have increased 23% this year.
Edmiston’s sale of Virtuosity provides an example of this trend. The yacht sold in just 255 days, less than half the market’s average selling time.

The figures suggest buyers continue to value modern yachts in excellent condition. However, the limited availability of suitable vessels can make finding the right yacht more challenging.
Monaco Yacht Show Highlights Edmiston’s Fleet
September’s Monaco Yacht Show provided another opportunity for Edmiston to showcase its portfolio. The company presented its largest-ever line-up at the event, with a particularly strong charter fleet.
Three recently delivered superyachts made their Monaco Yacht Show debuts. They were the 102m Lürssen Nixie, the 88m Turquoise Yachts Angelique and the 72m Sanlorenzo Silver Fox.
Edmiston also highlighted its continuing involvement in new construction. During the show, the company announced the sale of a 57m Benetti project currently under construction.
Edmiston Looks Ahead to Q4
Edmiston enters the final quarter of 2026 with a strong line-up of sales opportunities. Its next major industry event is the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Although overall transaction volumes remain slightly below 2025, the larger-yacht market continues to demonstrate strength. Meanwhile, reduced inventory and sustained demand for quality vessels remain important factors shaping the brokerage sector.
