
UK converter Wellhouse Leisure has launched its first fully electric campervan. The conversion uses the new Kia PV5 electric van platform. Prices start from £53,500. As a result, long-distance touring with an electric campervan now looks more realistic.
Impressive Electric Range for Touring
The PV5 offers up to 258 miles of WLTP range with the larger 71.2kWh battery. This range makes longer campervan trips far easier. Moreover, the PV5 recently set a Guinness World Record for electric light commercial vehicles. The van travelled 430 miles on one charge while carrying its maximum payload. Drivers completed the run in real-world conditions on public roads in Germany.

The PV5 measures: 4.69 metres long, 1.89 metres wide and is just under 2 metres high. Consequently, owners can easily use it as a daily vehicle.
Battery Options and Rapid Charging
Customers can choose between two battery sizes. The 51.5kWh battery offers up to 181 miles WLTP range, while the 71.2kWh battery offers up to 258 miles WLTP range. Rapid charging provides another advantage. A fast charger boosts the battery from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. That charge adds roughly 144 or 197 miles of range, depending on battery size.
Practical Campervan The conversion uses a classic side-kitchen layout.
Customers can choose gas or electric cooking and heating. Meanwhile, the rear bench seat slides forward or backward. This design maximises storage or living space.
