The World’s Tallest Sloop.

The Sky is the limit for the world’s tallest sloop.

British design studios Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design and Winch Design have unveiled plans for an 81-metre supersloop. They say the yacht, named Sky, will carry the tallest sailing mast ever fitted to a yacht.

Scheduled for construction at Royal Huisman in the Netherlands, Sky will feature a carbon mast by Rondal.  Her projected air draught reaches 93 metres. That matches the Statue of Liberty’s height from ground to torch.

With design and engineering largely complete, Sky is ready to build once a buyer commits.  Delivery could follow as early as spring 2030, far quicker than the usual six-year custom build timeline.

Designed for World Cruising and Performance.

Created for global cruising, Sky combines powerful sailing performance with long-range comfort.  Her long waterline, lifting keel and optimised aluminium construction support exceptional speed and efficiency.

The designers expect her to sail faster than the wind and to outperform comparable motor yachts.  Careful weight distribution enhances both responsiveness and comfort under sail.

Advanced Sailing Systems and Outdoor Living.

At the helm, twin carbon composite rudders ensure agility and simplified handling.  Integrated sailing systems deliver the control expected from a performance yacht under 50 metres.

Meanwhile, the flybridge and seating zones support open-air living with excellent visibility and sun protection.  Aft, a large beach deck strengthens the connection between guests and the water.

An extendable swim platform, folding bulwarks and a full-beam lazarette enhance versatility at anchor.  Together, these features create multiple flexible spaces for relaxation and watersports.

No Need for a Support Vessel.

Below deck, Sky can carry a 12-metre tender and a dedicated crew or rescue tender.  She also stores water scooters, Seabobs, kayaks, paddleboards, bikes and full scuba equipment.

This extensive inventory removes the need for a separate support yacht.

As a result, owners can cruise independently without sacrificing adventure.

Light-Filled Interior and Wellness Spaces.

Inspired by nature, the interior accommodates ten to twelve owners and guests.

The full-beam owner’s suite offers direct access to the expansive aft beach deck.  Large hull windows flood the suite with natural daylight.  Midships, a dedicated wellness spa and watersports centre add further appeal.

Hybrid Propulsion and Silent Operation.

Propulsion comes from electric azimuth pod drives supported by four main generators.  A substantial battery bank enables silent, zero-emission cruising and peak-shaving.  During sailing, the system can regenerate energy to improve overall efficiency.  This approach reflects growing demand for cleaner, quieter superyacht operations.
