Expedition Micro Cruise specialists Secret Atlas are offering an East Greenland Explorer Cruise.
It will visit Scoresby Sund and includes a visit to one of the world’s most remote communities Ittoqqortoormiit. The community is only accessible during the summer months.
Made up of only 400 Greenlandic people, Ittoqqortoormiit is one of the most isolated settlements in Greenland and a unique opportunity to learn about Inuit traditions.
Sailing up the longest fjord on the planet will also offer a chance to see the Northern Lights.
Small ship expedition cruises
By offering small ship expedition cruises for only 12 guests, Secret Atlas expeditions are low impact. They are sustainable and ensure guests get the most out of their trip. They do so by employing flexible itineraries arranged around weather and wildlife.
Greenland is the largest island on the planet but only has a population of 56,000 inhabitants making it one of the most sparsely populated places on Earth.
Secret Atlas Co-Founder and enthusiast explorer Michele D’Agostino said, “I first entered Scoresby Sund Fjord in July 2018. And immediately, I understood what a fascinating and unique part of the planet it was. We decided to launch the East Greenland micro cruise to allow a small group of guests the opportunity to experience this remote part of the world in an authentic and private way, but with minimal impact to the community, wildlife and environment.”
Remote community of Ittoqqortoormiit
