YPI CREW, the superyacht crew recruitment agency, is to open a second office in Antibes.
The company moved into its current office location on Avenue de la Liberation in 2013. Since then, the number of job requests has increased by 68%. Now, the team needs to expand to continue providing the service it offers clients and candidates.
Increase in activity
The increase of activity was particularly noted in the interior department, which recorded a 102% increase for the same period in terms of job requests. The decision was taken to hire two additional staff members in this department headed by Helen Papamichael. And the company is now recruiting three more people in the main office.
In early April, YPI CREW’s Superyacht Engineering team moved to the company’s other premises in rue Honore Ferrare, just around the corner. YPI CREW purchased that office in 2009. When it became too small in 2013, the team found a tenant to take over and moved out. They are now able to claim that office back. They will give it to the Engineering team space which will develop under the leadership of Jacqui Young. She joined the firm in 2006.
Jacqui and her team are looking forward to welcoming the Superyacht Engineering clients and candidates in the refurbished office.
Human skills and technology
The future of recruitment is where human skills and technology meet, mix and complement each other. YPI CREW will continue to strive to achieve this delicate balance.
The recruiters at YPI CREW have extensive knowledge of the yachting industry and are experts in superyacht recruitment. And they work in accordance with MLC 2006 to ensure that seafarers have access to an efficient and well-regulated recruitment and placement system. They are listed on the French national register for seafarer recruitment and placement services, as per legal requirements. So, YPI CREW maintains a Statement of Compliance from Lloyds Register for MLC 2006 on a voluntary basis. The Lloyds Register’s Marseille office externally audits the company each year.
In November 2018, the Schulte Group, through its Maritime Service Company in Singapore, concluded their takeover of a majority stake of YPI CREW.
“Since day one in 2002, I’ve had a clear vision and my goal remains to have a premium company, offering the best service for our clients and candidates, the best working environment for the team and the best relationship with our shareholders,” says Laurence Lewis, Director of YPI CREW.
“I am very excited about our current recruitment drive,” says Laurence. “And I look forward to developing our winning team further, to fine- tune our service and ensure our clients and candidates are looked after to the highest standards.”
