Small ship cruising in Scotland is a mixture of relaxation and adventure, with exclusive access to some of the country’s most stunning island beaches and hideaway locations that are only accessible by smaller vessels.
The Majestic Line are so successful as operators of these boutique yacht like cruises that they are now in a position to commission the building of a third vessel.
The original cruise vessels are the Glen Massan and the Glen Tarsan, lovingly converted traditional wooden fishing boats.
On board accommodation allows for cruising in comfort and style with a roomy indoor dining deck saloon, 6 double ensuite cabins and three outdoor decks.
The new purpose built vessel, the Glen Etive will be ready for the 2016 season.
Currently under construction by Ardmaleish Boatbuilding Co. Ltd on the Clyde, with funding assistance from Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the new Glen Etive has been designed in the style of a 1930’s gentleman’s motor yacht, and will feature high quality traditional marine finishes in natural wood and brass, along with a steel hull.
The new boat will undertake 10-day cruises to:
- Islay
- Skye
- Outer Hebrides
- St Kilda
- Skye
- Eigg
- Rum
- Canna
- Shiant Islands
- North Uist
- South Uist
The design of the company’s vessels is to encourage informality and relaxation; the deck saloon is where guests gather and everyone dines together at one large table.
Service is discreet and very personal from the friendly crew of four, including an informal fine dining menu created daily by the on board chef using local produce and catering for personal preferences.
Accommodation is cosy and comfortable in well-appointed cabins. The dining room and observation saloon offer panoramic views of the constantly changing scenery, and the sheltered deck is perfect for al fresco drinks and relaxing.
Their size allows inshore access to delightful and remote areas not available to bigger cruise vessels.
Each day there are new stops on offer and every night the boat anchors off a different stunning location for dinner.
These are truly unique experiences, with seasonal rates starting from £1050 per person.
All three vessels can be booked for private charters, individually or together.
