German superyacht builder Lürssen delivered Azzam the largest yacht in the world to her new owners on 22nd October 2013.
With a length of 180 metres and a top speed of over 30 knots she was built in record time taking less than one year of engineering followed by three years from the first steel cutting.
Her innovative and timeless exterior design is the work of Mario Pedol at Nauta Yachts. The French designer Christophe Leoni created a sophisticated and luxurious interior in a turn of the century Empire style.
The entire project was completed under the guidance and leadership of Mubarak Saad al Ahbabi the principal designer and the man who defined the original creative idea.
Lürssen, based in Bremen, Germany maintains four shipyards in North Germany employing a workforce of 1550.
The privately run company, still solely in the hands of the Lürssen family, has earned an international reputation as being specialist in the construction of exclusive, large custom-built yachts.
