Chinese Yacht Sales Up with 41 Sold in Xiamen in first half of Year

A total of 41 yachts have been sold in Xiamen China during the first half of this year, according to a report in Whatsonxiamen.com
Quoting the 2013 Xiamen Yacht Economic Half-Year Report the news site carries a story which states:
Statistics show that small yachts below 40 feet account for 65.9% of the yachts sold in the first half of the year, 40-60 feet medium yachts 17%, 60-80 feet large yachts 14.6%, and super yachts above 80 feet 2.4%.
Domestically-made yachts accounted for 78.6% of the 14 yachts above 40 feet which were sold in the first half of the year.
The report also found that yachts are becoming more and more popular among Xiamen’s wealthy. Of the 27 small yachts sold in Xiamen in the first six months of the year, 87% of them were sold to local buyers.
The yacht industry has seen rapid development in Xiamen in recent years thanks to the government’s continued support.

In the 2012-2013 China Yacht Industry Report published in May this year, Xiamen beat Haikou, Sanya, Shenzhen and other Chinese cities in yacht industry competitiveness.
The city scored 76 points to rank 1st in the report which analyses China’s 14 coastal cities comprehensively and compiles a ranking based on their competitiveness in the yacht industry.
