After Sunrise Comes Sunset

Four years after delivering Project Sunrise Africa, their first building the Antalya-based yacht builder Sunrise Yachts has completed the second 45m/147’ motor yacht Project Sunset for a North-American client.

Designed by Studio Scanu, with an interior design by Franck Darnet Design, she will be delivered summer 2014.
Built on spec up to the stage of interior outfitting the yacht is a three-deck, deep-sea, full displacement, long-range, steel hull and aluminium superstructure vessel, built to operate for private use or charter.
The yacht’s main characteristics include large volumes at 499 Gross Tons, excellent deck heights, great stability, comfort and seaworthiness, very low levels of sound and vibration, an affective layout, and extreme fuel efficiency.
A full-length technical tunnel running from the engine room to the bow-thruster compartment – an unprecedented feature on yachts in this category – provides easy access to tanks and systems at bilge deck level.

The interior design is entrusted to the talent of Nantes-based Franck Darnet Design, who had previously designed the interior for Africa. In sharp contrast with the first Sunrise 45m’s dark tropical woods, Project Sunset’s contemporary and elegant décor will feature light veneers and a bright colour scheme.
Guillaume Roché, the Sunrise Yachts CEO, stated: “Just like Africawas one of the star yachts at the Monaco Yacht Show 2009, we intend to make Project Sunset one of the most notable yachts delivered next year worldwide. We will further demonstrate our commitment to excellence and to continually improving our standards while remaining a competitive alternative to quality European builders.”
The un named client, shared his thoughts about the shipyard: “When I considered this acquisition, after doing extensive research on the market, I was a little nervous about entrusting a relatively new builder, in Turkey, with my first yacht project. I had to meet the entire team and to see the shipyard for myself. What impressed me the most is the spirit of genuine love for their craft that pervades the team.“
Project Sunset will be delivered in July 2014 and showcased, by appointment only, at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2014 and at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October 2014.
