Proof that the super yacht industry is a young persons game comes with news that a new Association for the bright young things in yachting industry has been formed.
Young Professionals in Yachting (YPY) is a non-profit organisation. It was originally formed in Florida, USA to educate, promote ethical business practice and ultimately facilitate success for young professionals within the worldwide yachting business community. Now YPY Monaco heads up the European division on the Cote d’Azur.
Each month, YPY Monaco will hold a members’ meeting, where speakers from a range of professions share their expertise. The meetings for those under 40 will have an educational or personal development focus and will be followed by an opportunity to network with speakers and other members.
The aim of YPY is to provide its members with a platform through which they can build professional networks and improve transparency and trust across our industry, all whilst building on their experience. The President of YPY Monaco, Marcela Royer, explains why the creation of YPY Monaco is important to her; “I wanted to go to an association where I could learn something new and meet new people, it’s important that while we are focused on our work routine, we continue learning, and one of my favorite ways to learn is to talk to interesting people who can teach me something new”
