Hein Velema CEOI of Fraser Yachts says “The bookings for the summer season are up in comparison with last year for the same time period. Stronger demand for charters in the Mediterranean is being seen from the America’s, both North and South.
There is still no confirmation of the VAT situation on charters in France but it is expected that the country will have to introduce VAT on charter this year due to mounting pressure from the EU. There is speculation that the new VAT will not be applied on charters that have been booked before the new VAT regulations come into effect. No one can be certain about the implementation at this point but it is likely that these rumours will lead to bookings being made earlier than last year.”
