The owner of the 77m Samar purchased the 100m berth at Camper & Nicholsons Marinas’ Grand Harbour Marina, Malta, in a sale confirmed last December, in order to accommodate his forthcoming larger yacht, currently in new-build planning.
His decision to stay at the marina where he has been berthed for the last ten years, was the direct result of positive experiences both on the island and at the marina itself, explained the owner’s captain.
Captain of Samarsaid, “the location of being the gateway to either the East or West makes Malta an ideal place to position. Our experience with the Grand Harbour Marina staff has been excellent. Problems that do arise are met with an attitude of ‘how can we fix this and improve’ and not the typical ‘this is the way it is’. Grand Harbour Marina’s offering is one of the finest experienced in my career.”
Kurt Fraser, Sales & Marketing Director at CNM added: “This is proof positive of what we have always believed and said about Malta’s strategic location, its desirability for Captains and Crew, and operational advantages for owners and their yachts. Malta’s temperate climate, mild winters and sunshine filled days, as well as it’s low cost of living and its stable and yacht friendly jurisdiction, are major bonus points in its arsenal to compete with more fashionable Mediterranean homeports.”
