Seven different rums are to be unveiled for the JollyHarbour Valentine’s Regatta and Rum Festival.
The rums from all around the region will feature as part of the all-new Rum Festival element of this exciting event on Antigua’s yachting calendar.
Rums represented are:
  • Angostura
  • Appleton
  • Bacardi
  • Clements
  • El Dorado Rum
  • English Harbour Rum
  • Mount Gay Rum

Three shoreside events over three days will give the public the opportunity to try as many rums as they can manage; neat, on the rocks and mixed.
On Friday 8th February everyone is invited to the Rum and Bites Party beginning at 5pm on the Green beside Jolly Harbour Marina. It will feature all of the rum brands along with a great range of food vendors including pizzas and pasta from Al Porto, sushi from Sugar Ridge and a whole host of vendors.
On Saturday 9th February the English Harbour Rum and Rhythms Party will begin at 5 pm and will include live performances from 1761° and Tian Winter and there will be prizes and surprises throughout the evening.
The final party Rum on the Beach, will take place on Jolly Harbour’s south beach on Sunday 10th February beginning at 2 pm. Entertainment will include beach cricket, Chickie Hi-Fi, Spirited Band and the Regatta Awards Party.
Laser Pico racing will be in action off the beach from mid-morning through to mid-afternoon. Organisers are inviting boat owners to head to the beach to enjoy the festivities and families from across Antigua are invited to spend a fun afternoon at the Regatta.
For those wanting to get out on the water, Wadadli Cats will be offering a tour on Sunday to watch the races. Boarding at approximately 9 am, the tour will include lunch and drinks and will arrive back at the Jolly Harbour south beach in time for the afternoon beach party.
In charge of the shoreside organisation, sponsorship and marketing, Alison Sly-Adams says: “We are thrilled that all of the major rum brands have agreed to participate in the inaugural Rum Festival aspect of the Jolly Harbour Valentine’s Regatta – the first event of its kind in the Caribbean pairing a sailing regatta with a rum festival.”

  1. This reminds me of the Rhum festival that Cutty Sark used to participate with. Those who have won tickets by purchasing products gets a free ride aboard the Cutty Sark yacht. Some are of the old floaters sale models from the 1700’s.
