It has been almost exactly one year since YPI launched YPI Asia, the company dedicated to serving the needs of superyacht owners and charterers across the Asian region and in particular China.
It is now the only full service brokerage house with three dedicated offices in China and Hong Kong, having have grown from just one office in Aberdeen Harbour, Hong Kong to three offices with optimal locations in Shenzhen and Nansha.
All three offices will be represented at this year’s 3rd Hainan Rendez-Vous
With China the world’s second largest economy claiming 1,226 billionaires on the recent Forbes List 2012 coming from China and Hong Kong (133 in total) and one billionaire, 83 year old Li Ka-Shing, adding a record the value to his wealth to become the 9 richest man in the world there is every good reason for those in the superyacht industry to expand into Asia.
“The names change on the List,” says Managing Director, Olivier Besson, “But the wealth remains constant in China today.”
Marina construction is at an all-time high and Chinese investors and industry are buying into some of Europe’s ailing but renowned yacht brands.
