In Italy today, an amendment has been passed that appears to modify the recent “Berthing Tax” law that have had many in the Superyacht industry worried.
It is understood that only Italian flagged vessels will be required to pay this tax and therefore all non-Italian flagged vessels will be exempt.
Further, the tax will be paid on a yearly basis and will no longer include an option for daily application.
While this news is as yet unconfirmed, it is our understanding that the final approval vote on this matter will take place either today or tomorrow morning.
