A new superyacht services building has opened inside the superyacht refit and repair yard Servicios Técnicos Portuarios (STP) in Palma de Mallorca.
Once a canteen and facility for workers and yacht crews, as well as offering workshop storage space the previously dilapidated building has been reopened following a year during which it has been fully refurbished.
Now known as the RS Global Building it houses many superyacht specialist service companies including:
- Rolling Stock Group (Painting, Chandlery, Rigging, Shore Support)
- RSB Rigging Solutions (Rigging)
- Astilleros de Mallorca (Complete Shipyard Services)
- e3 Systems (Advanced Marine Electronics)
- Technocraft Scaffolding (Scaffold, covers & fittings)
- Pinmar (Superyacht Refinishing)
- Pure Superyacht Refit (Specialist Superyacht Refit)
- Metalnox (Lloyds Approved Welders)
- Soft Interiors (Custom-made interiors & exteriors)
- Master Yachts (Refit Management)
- Palma Refit (Superyacht Furnishing Specialists)
- Trappmann Consulting (Design, Carpentry, Upholstery)
- Universal Nautic (Upholstery, covers and carpets)
- Pendennis Shipyard (Yacht Builders & repairers)
- BM Composites
- The Dock Bar (Bar/Restaurant)
The STP yard has seen major investment into the infrastructure over the last few years since being taken over by its present management on a long-term concession awarded by the Balearics Port Authority.
With a number of travel lifts up to 800 ton capacity, several keel pits for sailing yachts up to 60 metres and a large number of deep water moorings, the yard is well equipped as a superyacht repair and refit facility in the Mediterranean.
STP however is only permitted by its lease to lift or moor yachts and provide mains services such as power, water and waste management
As a consequence it is imperative that yacht captains and project managers have access to the full range of marine services and products on site, and that they are easily contactable on a daily basis.
Now within the secure perimeters of the yard the new building plays host to all these essential services and allows the facility to rival any repair port in the world for its choice of specialised expertise and capability
