Stronger Superyacht brand names are recovering quicker than others

Stronger brands are recovering quicker with shipyards offering discounts making good sales.  Shipyards are finally signing up new contracts as they are seeing a slow recovery of the market.

The most well known brands are performing better than relatively unknown brands. This is especially true of the stronger brands that produce series yachts and which are able to discount prices and make good sales.

Many expect for 2011 that the total sales of new construction yachts will be 50% of the total capacity of the market.

Experts at Lusben Shipyards believe shipyards will not close but will instead change hands.

New investors are entering the market and trying to rejuvenate existing yards.

This of however will not solve the over capacity issue.
