Pari the 39 metre superyacht hits the rocks off Cap Ferrat
In almost the same spot as claimed Mirabella V when she took the ground on the Cote d’Azure, the 39 metre motor yacht Pari has been swept ashore onto rocks after having dragged her anchor over the weekend Strong wind from the east are said to have caused the yacht to drag anchor, according to an article published on Varmatin.com.
Six crew and two guests were on board the Maltese flagged Pari during the incident. Three people were taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure but were released shortly thereafter
Of immediate concern to the local authorities is the damage the yachts fuel may do to the surrounding area.
A team from SDIS (Service Départemental d’Incendie et de Secours) having assessed the threat of pollution pronounced it as slight. Once pollution has been contained thoughts will turn to the possibility of salvage and there are reports of a tug being dispatched from Toulon. Professional yacht crews who have seen the damage have given the unqualified opinion that there seems little chance of the yacht being successfully recovered.
The blue hulled yacht was built in 1989 by Alucraft in Turkey.
