New Man at the Top
Heading the Yacht Management team for Large Yacht Solutions at offices in London,
Barcelona and soon to be opened Ft Lauderdale, Derek Smith is the company’s newly appointed Operations Director.
He brings with him a wealth of experience and 11 years of yacht management expertise specialising in statutory coding, safety and quality systems.
Smith trained as an Marine Engineer with Ellerman City Lines, and served as Chief Engineer on a number of yachts including; Beatriz Of Boliva, Orejona, Rosenkavalier, Lands End and Invader
In addition to his involvement with the Cayman Islands Shipowners’ Advisory Council – Yacht Committee (CISAC-YC) as the inaugural Chairman, Derek will continue to provide support to the MYBA Management Committee, where he has been an active member responsible for liaising with the USCG and MCA HeliDeck Training Working Group
