We have just returned from La Spesia in Italy where were the guests of Perini Navi who have recently launched the 55 metre Vitruvius explorer yacht from their Picchiochetti yard.
Registered in London Galileo G is the second of the Vitruvius yacht series to be launched. Conceived by Veerle Battiau and designed by Philippe Briand, this yacht differs from Exuma, their first in that:
- Her hull is built of steel
- At 10% longer she is 5 metres longer overall
- The gross tonnage is some 50% greater
- Her hull has been strengthened to navigate in ice
While Exuma is blue water cruising in the South Pacific, the owners of Galileo G have the North east Passage firmly in their sights.
