The Yacht Harbour Association (THYA) has announced the winners of its Marina of the Year Awards.
Marinas flying the National flag of Turkey have done rather well.
Yalikavak Marina a TYHA Winner
Yalikavak Marina, Turkey’s first high-capacity mega yacht marina scooped up first place in the Superyacht Marina category. Karpaz Gate Marina in Northern Cyprus came in second in the International category.
Now in its 6th year, the Awards recognise the best of over 160 Gold Anchor accredited marinas from round the world. The winning marinas are voted for by their berth holders.
Jon White, General Manager of TYHA, commented: “A huge congratulations to all who were voted for in the competition. The array of marinas who stood out in this year’s competition showed how strong today’s marinas are. Most achieve and often exceed the modern consumer’s standard of quality service and excellent facilities.”
Deniz Akaltan, Director of Yakilavak Marina, said: “We are honoured and excited to be recognised as Superyacht Marina of the Year. He added, “We have worked tirelessly to deliver quality service and our efforts have paid off.”
Karpaz Gate Marina a TYHA Winner
Karpaz Gate Marina in North Cyprus is recognised again as one of the world’s best marinas in TYHA ’s Marina of the Year Awards.
This is the second time, Karpaz Gate Marina has been named among the world’s most popular Gold Anchor-accredited marinas. The last time was in 2017 when they were outright winners.
Decided by the votes of berth holders, the 300-berth marina on the island’s Karpaz peninsula was selected as Runner-Up in the International Marina of the Year category.
The award reflects the high level of customer satisfaction achieved during the past year due to the exceptional standard of its facilities and services. It also reflects the exclusive experience created by the unique North Cyprus location.
TYHA Marina of the Year Awards 2018/19 was open to all Gold Anchor accredited marinas both in the UK and overseas. Customers were invited to select their favourite marina within five different categories.
The honour arrives at the start of an exciting year for Karpaz Gate Marina, with construction just underway on a boutique hotel and spa overlooking the marina, set to open by spring 2020.
Liza Singer, Karpaz Gate Marina Managing Director, said: “To receive recognition again is a huge accolade because it proves we are maintaining the highest standards for our customers.”
