Leading yacht designer Andrew Winch tells us that the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show was especially memorable for him and his team at Winch Design.
With three new yachts exhibiting, four past yachts for sale, and the unveiling of some very exciting new collaborations at was a busy time that saw the team take the limelight at many of the shows press conferences
Andrew said, “We have had an exceptionally busy year, with five yachts launched in 2017, and it is a real honour for us to have such a presence at MYS, showcasing the spectrum of design styles, both exterior and interior, that we are proud to have created.”
Nobiskrug Concept
Among the announcements made by the team was their partnership with Nobiskrug to design the exterior and interior of a dynamic 85m motor yacht concept, launched on the first day of this year’s Monaco Yacht Show.
A striking dark blue hull and snow-white superstructure set the tone for this edgy, modern design. Internally, it is multifaceted, with different layouts and interior schemes to suit individual clients, including extensive relaxation areas and a full beam beach club.
The partnership between two iconic names within the superyacht industry brings together a stunning design with an established yard to create something very special.
Heesen Concept
At the Jaws Drop for Heesen press event Winch unviled desigs for a 66m motor yacht, with sculptural exterior surfaces that reflect the sky and ocean, creating a marine-like appearance, and a fresh contemporary interior.
Key features will include a full beam main deck, a 5 metre long infinity pool and a large tender garage under the fore deck to accommodate a limousine tender and rescue boat.
With lounges on 2 levels, and both exterior and interior dining for up to 12 guests, family living and relaxation are at the heart of this Winch Design and Heesen concept.
Wally Collaboration
Collaborating with Wally has always been a dream of Andrew’s, and this year it came true, with the launch of the new 83m Sea Explorer concept, in partnership with Wally and Nobiskrug.
