Viking Haki joins the cruise line’s award-winning fleet of Viking Longships, ready to sail popular European river itineraries.
Viking has taken delivery of the Viking Haki, the latest addition to its fleet of Viking Longships. The 190-guest river ship will operate popular itineraries along the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.
Meanwhile, Viking continues expanding its river fleet to meet demand for destination-focused cruising. Its European itineraries bring guests closer to the history, culture and traditions of the places they visit.
Scandinavian Design and Innovative Features
The Viking Haki accommodates 190 guests across 95 staterooms. Its elegant Scandinavian design combines contemporary comfort with the innovative features found throughout Viking’s Longship fleet.
These include a patented square bow, which creates space for three full passenger decks. The ship also features Viking’s indoor-outdoor Aquavit Terrace, offering guests a flexible space to relax and enjoy river views.

In addition, Viking’s proprietary asymmetric corridor layout allows the ship to accommodate genuine two-room suites.
The Viking Haki will operate several established itineraries, including:
- Rhine Getaway
- Grand European Tour
- Danube Waltz
- Tulips & Windmills
- Christmas Market cruises
These itineraries combine scenic river journeys with opportunities to explore historic cities, cultural attractions and regional traditions.
Viking Plans Further Fleet Expansion
Viking continues to pursue its long-term growth strategy, focusing on destination-led travel experiences.
According to the company’s current orderbook, Viking expects to receive 17 additional river ships by 2028. It also plans to add 11 ocean ships by 2032 and two expedition ships by 2031.

Consequently, Viking expects its river fleet to reach 114 ships in 2028. By 2032, its combined ocean and expedition fleets should comprise 28 ships.
From European Rivers to Ocean and Expedition Cruises
Viking has developed a broad portfolio of destination-focused cruises for travellers interested in history, culture and exploration.
Its river itineraries extend beyond Europe to destinations across Africa and Asia. Meanwhile, its ocean and expedition fleets offer alternative ways to explore the world.
Viking introduced its now-familiar Longships in 2012. These vessels helped reshape the river cruising market through their Scandinavian design and innovative layouts. According to the company, Longships now account for 80% of its river fleet.
The company entered the ocean cruising market in 2015. In 2026, Viking expanded its ocean fleet with the introduction of the Viking Mira.
Viking Expeditions and Mississippi River Cruises
Viking entered expedition cruising in January 2022 with the launch of Viking Octantis. The vessel operates voyages to Antarctica, the Arctic and North America’s Great Lakes.
A second expedition ship, Viking Polaris, followed in September 2022. Together, these vessels extend Viking’s destination-focused approach into some of the world’s more remote cruising regions.

Viking has also expanded into American inland waterways. Its purpose-built Viking Mississippi operates cruises along the Lower and Upper Mississippi River, connecting destinations between New Orleans and St Paul.
With further deliveries planned across its river, ocean and expedition fleets, Viking continues to expand its global cruising programme.
