DAME Design Awards a Record Year

The 2025 DAME Design Awards has set a new record, attracting 146 product entries from 37 countries.

This achievement marks a high point for the globally respected marine design competition.

Winners will be revealed during the official opening of METSTRADE on 18 November.

Expert Jury Brings Global Perspective

An international jury of 11 design and user experts reviewed entries across the full spectrum of leisure marine and superyacht activities.

After two weeks of online evaluation, the jury met at RAI Amsterdam for two intensive days of hands-on assessment.

The panel welcomed Scarlett Harris, a recent product design graduate, continuing the initiative to involve young design talent.

It also gained expertise from Alexandra Foineau Oakley, whose experience spans equipment distribution, manufacturing, and product management.

67 Products Shortlisted for Display

From 146 entries, 67 innovative products were nominated—the highest number shortlisted since 2016.

Visitors can explore these designs in a dedicated showcase at METSTRADE Hall 13, right at the show’s centre.

Full details and images of the nominees appear at damedesignawards.com/nominees.

Celebrating the Best in Marine Design

The nominated products form the shortlist for eight DAME category winners.

From these, the overall DAME Design Award winner will be selected.

The jury will also present Special Mentions for highly commended entries and may name an Environmental Design Award winner.

Awards Ceremony and Keynote Event

Winners will be announced during METSTRADE’s Official Opening in the Harbour 8 events facility, entrance F.

The ceremony will follow a keynote speech by Cheryl Brown, Managing Director of Le Boat.

The event is open to exhibitors, METSTRADE Young Professionals, press, VIPs, and speakers.

A live panel with the overall winner will take place later on the METSTRADE Stage.

The Jury Report will be published online after the event at damedesignawards.com.

Supporting Ocean Conservation

All entry fees from this year’s competition will be donated to The Ocean Conservation Trust,

a charity dedicated to protecting and restoring marine ecosystems worldwide.

Innovation and Growth in Marine Equipment Design

The record number of entries shows strong recovery and innovation across the marine equipment industry.

Designers are refocusing on creativity, functionality, and sustainability after years of economic and logistical challenges.

The surge in development highlights the sector’s renewed commitment to improving the products used by builders and boat owners.

Since its creation, the DAME Design Awards has promoted excellence in marine equipment design.

It celebrates innovation across aesthetics, functionality, integration, cost efficiency, and lifecycle management.

Good design drives manufacturing efficiency, reliability, and sustainability while meeting modern consumer expectations.

Each year, the awards encourage designers to match standards seen in automotive and consumer electronics industries.

The DAME Design Awards are organised, funded, and hosted by METSTRADE.

All entry fees are donated annually to a charity chosen by the METSTRADE Exhibition Committee.
