Dickens’ Great Christmas Feast

This winter, West Kensington hides one of London’s most magical experiences. Audiences step through a portal into Dickens’ Christmas Eve, 1843.

From 14 November 2025 to 4 January 2026, The Great Christmas Feast promises a uniquely transportive festive celebration.

An Immersive Dickensian Journey

Guests become Dickens’ first parlour audience, hearing A Christmas Carol in an intimate, atmospheric Victorian setting.

Since launching eight years ago, the show has sold out every season. It has quietly become a cult Christmas tradition.

Created by The Lost Estate, specialists in immersive storytelling, the event fuses theatre, music, design, and fine dining.

Actor David Alwyn delivers a one-man performance as Dickens. He shifts seamlessly between narrator and character, bringing Scrooge and Tiny Tim alive.

Music That Shapes the Story

Composer Steffan Rees provides a cinematic live score, performed by three talented musicians: violinist Guy Button, percussionist Beth Higham-Edwards, and cellist Kieran Carteron.

Their music sets the heartbeat of the evening, guiding the audience’s emotions from haunting tension to tender warmth.

The script and score build together, creating crescendos and quiet moments that echo Dickens’ emotional depth.

Dining With Dickens

The experience blends storytelling with dining, recreating Dickens’ famous hospitality. Guests dine inside a gaslit parlour, sharing long tables in true Victorian style.

Executive Chef Ashley Clarke curates a three-course Victorian Christmas menu inspired by London’s 19th-century markets.

Starters feature potted rare breed beef, hot smoked salmon, or vibrant potted cheese.

Mains include confit Gressingham duck or king oyster mushroom pithivier, each paired with classic seasonal trimmings.

Dessert is a traditional Christmas pudding with brandy ice cream.

Raise a Glass to the Season

Seasonal cocktails flow throughout the evening. Guests can try the legendary Smoking Bishop, Pear Tree Cup, or Rumfustian.

Drinks are served from Dickens’ recreated cellar, alongside wine, ale, and soft drinks.

A Stage Set in Victorian London

The Lost Estate’s West Kensington venue transforms into Dickens’ world. Snow-dusted streets and lantern-lit alleys lead into the parlour.

Every detail deepens the illusion. Victorian waitstaff serve guests, enhancing the sense of stepping back into 1843 London.

Why It’s Unmissable

The Great Christmas Feast is more than theatre. It’s a full journey into Dickens’ world of ghosts, generosity, and festive joy.

Audiences don’t just watch A Christmas Carol—they live it, dining and celebrating as Dickens’ own guests.
