Vitruvius 52 Metre Under Construction

Vitruvius Yacht Design has revealed further details of one of its latest creations. She is a 52 metre Hybrid Motor Yacht and is currently under construction at Tankoa Yachts in Genoa. Her scheduled launch is in early 2026.

This project is a collaboration between Vitruvius Yacht Design, Tankoa Yachts, interior designer Francesca Muzio.

Commissioned by an experienced couple with deep roots in both business and art, the project follows a clear brief. It is to create the most sophisticated and lifestyle-oriented yacht under 500 gross tons on the market today.

We were inspired

Philippe Briand, founder of Vitruvius Yacht Design. He said, “From our first meeting, we were inspired by our clients’ fresh perspective. And their passion for designing a truly personal life on the water. They challenged us with questions that spurred innovation. And we responded with ideas that bring their vision to life.”

One of the biggest challenges of this project was identifying the optimal balance between the efficiency of the aluminium hull. As well as maintaining the elegance characteristic of Vitruvius. The brief called for a General Arrangement capable of including all the features for an uncompromised lifestyle. All within the 500gt limit.

True to their design philosophy, Vitruvius has engineered a highly efficient hull form and specified aluminium construction. This maximises internal volume and optimises technical spaces.

The yacht features a hybrid propulsion system. This combines mechanical and electric power. And is supported by a high-capacity battery bank, drastically reducing fossil fuel consumption.

At 52 metres in length, the vessel offers the space and amenities of a much larger yacht while remaining under the 500gt threshold.

New standard for outdoor living

One of this yacht’s defining features is its focus on outdoor living. 50% of the overall volume has been dedicated to open-air spaces and wellness areas.

Among the onboard features is a full-beam aft gym. This opens onto a vast swim platform. That transforms into a beach club, complete with folding terraces and a central Jacuzzi. The gym includes an infrared sauna, accessible from the main deck and the seaside.

There is also a veranda-style lounge. This is a shaded, ventilated indoor-outdoor retreat designed for relaxed daytime living.

The panoramic lounge on the foredeck, offers the perfect observation point while the yacht is underway.

Innovative, airy interior space design

The general arrangement of this yacht emphasises fluidity, openness, and tranquility, aligning with the project’s focus on redefining onboard space.

The layout and interior design is a collaboration between Francesca Muzio of FM Architettura D’Interni and the Owner. They have a clear and precise vision as to how the boat should look and function.

On the main deck, the traditional central spiral staircase has been replaced with a discreet transverse staircase. This ensures a seamless flow between the main salon and dining area.

The dining room is an innovative space that includes Al Fresco seaside dining. The configuration can be implemented with the push of a button. Meaning there is no need of crew assistance.

The owner’s suite, located amidships, benefits from optimal stability and comfort at sea. It features a balcony, allowing the Owner to simply slide a door to enjoy a morning coffee outside. Again without the need to call the crew for assistance.

On the lower deck, five guest cabins accommodate visitors – an exceptional feature for a yacht of this size and tonnage.
