When Vicarious Media first published their AIl the Aires Spain and Portugal in 2009. The 1st edition had 91 widely dispersed Aires in Spain and 51 across Portugal.
15 years on and this definitive guidebook now details 1077 Aires.
There are now 824 Aires in Spain and 252 in Portugal. 186 of them are newly opened since the previous 6th edition which was published in July 2022.
Splitting the guide into regions tested the editorial skills of authors Chris and Meli. Accurately moving the 45,320 pieces of information was laborious, but they know that now it is significantly more user friendly. There were many late nights, and they worked so many weekends they did not know what the day of the week it was!
Easier to navigate. The 7th edition has been split into regions for ease. Localised maps are found at the beginning of each. Regions are listed alphabetically within the appropriate country.

186 new Aires were added to the Spanish section and 12 were added to Portugal.
Of the 1077 Aires 274 were inspected or verified in 2023 with 718 inspected or verified the following year. That means more than 95% have been inspected or verified in the 24 months preceding publication.

We like the A5 lay-flat format with 4 Aires per double page spread. Each aire has been inspected and photographed and each full entry features three colour photos of the site
There are directions and GPS coordinates for every listing in a N51°04.896′ format.
Detailed information about parking facilities and fees to be paid are also detailed.
Service Point only Aires are easily identified on the books map and are listed in Service Point only section at rear of each region.
Maps showing the location of each aire are inside the front cover, at the start of each region, and on separate fold out map.
