Whisky Around the World

Who knew there were so many whisky producing countries?  Scotland, Ireland and Japan yes!  But we had no idea that Taiwan, India, Peru, Germany, Denmark, and Australia were a in the mix.  Canada, England, Sweden, Austria, New Zealand, Mexico, Finland, USA, France and Italy also make it.  And it is no coincidence that our list contains 24 countries that do so.

Advent calendar

In what could be described as the ultimate gift for the adventurous whisky lover, there is now an advent calendar. And it is filled with the stuff!

It is a curated journey into 24 the world’s most exciting premium whiskies.

This is an adventure into the world’s most awarded and exciting whiskies from the four corners of the globe.  A handmade and engraved wooden bookcase contains 24 x 50ml ultra-premium distillations. One for each day of December before Christmas Day.

It also contains two drinking glasses plus an illustrated book on the 24 distilleries, the whiskies and tasting notes.

Mini circumnavigation

This Tour of the World is a curated journey of taste discovery broken into four linen bound volumes. Each volume is a mini circumnavigation with whiskies selected from across the world to give geographical variety in every book. As well as geographic breadth, each book has a range of whisky styles.  These cover single malts, blended whiskies, different wood finishes, Bourbons, ryes, peated and some single cask exclusive releases.

It is intended that the order is followed through all of the volumes as a non-traditional advent calendar. Meaning a new brand can be discovered each day on the countdown to 25th December.

The distilleries were selected because of their passion and single-minded determination to create great whiskies. For instance, some were started by friends who shared a common love of the water of life. Some are from farming families who wanted to create a grain-to-glass experience. As a result these are now sold all over the world and some wanted to be organic and sustainable across every aspect of their distillery. Each has a fascinating story and history to discover.

A Whisky Tour of the World has been designed to have a sustainable long life after the whiskies have been finished. Made from all recyclable materials, the box can be reused as a wooden planter or a storage box and even a secret hideaway to store important documents after use.

The Whisky Tour of the World will be available in Harvey Nichols from August with an RRP of £190
