Grenada the new home port for Star Clippers

Star Clippers has announced that Grenada is to become a brand new home port for the winter 25/26 season.

Their tall-ship, Star Clipper, will depart from St George’s in Grenada throughout selected itineraries in the new winter 2025/26 season. The new sailings will be of longer duration and showcase multiple brand new ports of call.

The 10 and 11-night sailings include visits to brand new destinations

  • Charlottesville (Tobago)
  • Castara Bay (Tobago)
  • Carriacou (Paradise Beach)
  • Charlestown Bay (Canouan)
  • Saint-Pierre (Martinique)
  • Saline Bay (Mayreau).

The lengthened itineraries have been introduced to meet increased demand from guests for longer sailings in the Caribbean.

Mikael Krafft, of Star Clippers, said “our ships have been visiting Grenada on our many Caribbean itineraries for some years.  We saw the opportunity to homeport one of our clipper ships there. So we immediately set to work with the Grenada Tourism Authority to make it a reality. The Caribbean is an ideal region for us.  Caribbean winds are always there to power our clipper ships.  And we can offer guests more opportunities to experience the beauty and culture of Grenada, opening a host of new possibilities.”

Authentic experiences

Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority made a comment. “The Pure Grenada and Star Clippers brands are aligned in prioritizing authentic experiences for our customers, designed to nourish and feed the soul.  Nature treks, beautiful bird-song, delicious cuisine, local traditions and heritage all cascade into an enriching experience second to none. And with convenient direct airlift from the UK, and our starring role as the newest home port for Star Clipper, there’s never been a better time to visit our beautiful tri-island state.”
