An employee of YPI the full-service yachting house is set to participate in annual Superyacht Charities Car Festival – July 17th
Yachting Partner International’s insurance and risk manager, Tom Montgomery, will participate in the forthcoming Superyacht Charities Car Festival.
The event is organised by the Superyacht Charities, which brings the yachting industry together to raise money for several charitable causes. This year, funds raised will be donated to the Antibes Lifeboat, the largest lifeboat in the Alpes Maritime department. The charitable organisation provides life-saving sea rescue operations around the Cote d’ Azur and, on occasion, as far as Corsica. The Antibes Lifeboat is run by a team of volunteers and relies entirely on donations.
The Poker Run style checkpoint rally takes place this Sunday, 17 July, in New Forest, England. Participating drivers and navigators will find their way through four checkpoints, picking up a playing card at each. These four cards will be combined with a final card at the finish, with the best hand winning.
The checkpoints will offer an opportunity for competitors to stop and chat with each other and enjoy a picnic or lunch in one of the many local pubs and restaurants in the area.
There will also be multiple awards, including the “Best Looking Car” competition and the “Gas Guzzler” and “Greem Gem” classes.
The charitable event will be capped off with an afternoon of live music, food stands, and a selection of drink bars.
He’ll take to the road in the Superyacht Charities Car Festival in a Porsche 911.
“I’m super excited to be taking part in this incredible event for the Antibes Lifeboat,’’ Montgomery said. “I’m more used to racing on yachts, having raced from the GB sailing team and, most recently, the US sailing team in the Solent in June, but hopefully I can do the event justice!”
