Mount Gay Rum Sponsor BVI Spring Regatta
Warm water, hot sail boat racing, cool parties with lashings of Mount Gay Rum. What more could you want?
Mount Gay, the world’s oldest running rum distillery will be back once again to provide sailors at the BVI Spring Regatta with their much-loved post-race tipple after a great day out on the water.
As long-standing supporters of the event, 300+ year Mount Gay heritage dates back to 1703 and is deeply connected to the ocean and sailing.
Their fabled Mount Gay Rum Red Cap has become much-coveted memorabilia by all those who take part and this year, Mount Gay Race Day on Friday 1st April will kick off proceedings of this popular regatta which has over 80 boats from around the world taking part.
Taking place between March 28-April 3, 2022, the BVI Spring Regatta and the Sailing Festival is one of the top three Caribbean sailing events, with an average of 80 yachts per year and 60% of the competitors from overseas.
The BVI Spring Regatta is the one Caribbean Regatta that has something for everyone who attends. Whether you race, cruise, practice or just come to enjoy the islands, it has it all!
The weeklong BVI Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival takes you throughout the beautiful British Virgin Islands.
Starting at Nanny Cay, the Sailing Festival is two days of warm-up racing – first to Scrub Island for the Invitational and followed by a race to Foxy’s Bar on Jost Van Dyke.
Next up, the Regatta kicks off three days of challenging Caribbean racing. Only the best survive to take home the gold and the glory, along with great stories and experiences that keep sailors coming back year after year.
Friday kicks off with the 2nd Mount Gay Race Day.
The sailing week provides options to enter all five races of the BVI Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival, or to take part in just the Festival, or the three-day Spring Regatta.
With a huge choice of shoreside accommodation and activities there’s no need to leave your loved ones at home.
