The next Oyster World Rally will begin on 9 January 2022 setting off from Nelson’s Dockyard, Antigua. It will offer 30 Oyster owners the opportunity to fulfil their dreams and sail around the world in company.
But before you rush out and buy your very own Oyster, be warned the Rally is already oversubscribed with a heavy waiting list of hopefuls
The event is a non-competitive world yacht rally that provides a pre-planned route and a specialist support team on hand along the way.
Participants will sail to some of the world’s most stunning and breathtaking destinations with a group of like-minded sailing and travel enthusiasts. The route takes in some of the best sailing grounds, purposefully designed by yacht builder’s team of experts to make the best of seasonal weather patterns.
The globe encircling voyage will see participants sail to such spectacular destinations such as Tahiti, Vanuatu, Ascension Island, Antigua, the Galapagos Islands, Australia,, as well as traversing through the Panama Canal. After visiting the Whitsunday Islands in Australia, the fleet then head to Indonesia, Cocos (Keeling) Islands and Mauritius. Christmas 2022 will be spent in the city of Cape Town, South Africa before setting off to the remote island of St Helena, en-route back in the Caribbean in early 2023
To enhance this event, Oyster have created an in-depth, pre-rally training programme that will be run over 2020-21. It includes subjects such as sea survival, medical training, on-board systems, yacht preparation, ocean navigation and weather.
In addition to these lectures the company plan a series of on line Webinars in which destinations will be discussed and plans made. The first of these guides detailing the Galapagos Islands and transiting the Panama Canal are available on the Oyster Yachts website in the dedicated Oyster World Rally section.
