Known for its superyacht scene and phenomenal beauty, Marigot Bay in the west coast of St Lucia is home to the Caribbean’s best show stopping Marina
Tucked away inside the natural inlet of Marigot Bay, with its eye-popping views, the show stopping superyacht marina docks are fully superyacht compliant and compatible.
Against a backdrop of lush tropical rain forest the bay provides the setting for the Marigot Bay Resort and Marina.
Boasting a distinct West Indies style brimming with shiny teak and bright St Lucian colours this is a resort complex that offers everything superyachts crave in a secluded destination port. Activities from snorkelling, scuba diving and hiking to private cruises, day trips and spa reservations.
Book a spa treatment
Be sure to book your traditional Fikyson Fwote or lunar therapy massage at the spa or call the resorts Personal Assistant service and everything will be arranged in a flash.
Check into the resort as we did for lazy days lounging hooded wicker Beach chairs beside one of the two freshwater pools. Swim up to the in-Pool Bar or wait where you are for staff to bring round rum-infused iced tea pops to keep you hydrated. These are the perfect primer for a sundowner in the Rum Cave before local cuisine accompanied by spectacular views in The Grill at 14°61 which overlooks Marigot Bay and serves seafood and wood fire cooked meats plus an extensive menu with international dishes cooked in an open kitchen. The Rum Cave is just one of three stylish bars with panoramic views of the Bay, each with “happy hours” at different times during the evening.
Delicious sushi
Besides The Grill at 14*61 other dining options at the property include, The Rum Cave, Hurricane Hole Restaurant and Bar and The Brut Bar which serves delicious sushi.
The guest rooms and suites in the resort feature modern-décor with dark furniture and white walls. They come with a satellite flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. The suites feature a kitchenette and ours even had its very own outside hot tub.
Nothing at the Marigot Bay Resort and Marina, is too much for the staff. At the reception they can arrange shuttles to the town centre, a Saint Lucia Discovery Tour, zip-lining or for those who are suitably fit and agile, the chance to enjoy the amazing Marigot Bay Ridge Climb, while Hewanorra International Airport is 16.2 miles from the hotel.
Express car hire
Being independent travellers used to driving island roads they even arranged for us to take delivery of a hire car at the hotel speedily and efficiently arranged by Express Services.
We used our set of wheels to revisit the town of Soufrie where we enjoyed a hot mud bath at the natural sulphur springs close by the world’s only drive in volcano. Our trip to this wonderfully unspoiled town would not be complete without a visit to the Diamond Falls set inside the Botanical Gardens there. It offers opportunities for more wallowing in hot sulphur spring water which feels great on the skin after you towel off
