Frances and Michael Howorth make their selection of Must See yachts at this years Antigua Charter Yacht Show
The Antigua Charter Yacht Show marks the start of the Caribbean charter season and this year looks like the show will have a bumper crop of top charter yachts on display.
We shall be there reporting for Superyacht Radio and the many international yachting and lifestyle magazines that we write for.
Most of the large brokerage houses will be fielding a fleet for the many charter brokers who descend into Antigua especially for the show. Among them will be Fraser Yachts who will be displaying the 76 metre Wheels a must see charter yacht built by Oceanco as Anastasia. Offering seven decks of outstanding features including a master stateroom with panoramic views, a fully equipped gym, cinema room, a disco area and an armada of water toys, Wheels is an incredible charter yacht with brand new Canadian SPA hot tub on the sundeck aft, perfect for children or for an intensive relaxing experience. She underwent a refit in 2018 including a substantial upgrade of the entertainment system, additional sitting areas and sunshade and the addition of a brand new hobie cat sailing catamaran.
Available for charter
Another must see yacht we are looking forward to boarding is Vibrance a 50 metre yacht available for charter through Fraser. Built in 2004 this yacht has been completely refitted in 2019 including new exterior paint in striking tones of steel grey. Beautiful new contemporary decor is enhanced by the comfortable layout of this timeless Amels. Five staterooms sleep 12 guests in spacious luxury. Convertible staterooms add convenience for different charter parties. The large sundeck is equipped with a roomy spa, dining table for 12, and various seating and lounging areas. Additional amenities include an alfresco well-equipped gym and a full complement of water of toys and tenders.
Burgess will have Excellence on display. Designed by Winch she was launched by German yard Abeking & Rasmussen earlier this year. She scooped up accolades at the Monaco Yacht Show Gala Awards, where she won the Exterior Design Award as well as Finest New Superyacht Award, Featuring a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sprawling beach club and floor-to-ceiling mirrored glass on bridge and owner’s decks, Excellence truly does live up to her name.
Also available for charter through Burgess, is the must see Aquila launched, by Derecktor Shipyard in 2010 under her original name Cakewalk. Then America’s largest yacht to ever be built, Aquila has been the subject of a 2016 refit by Pendennis. Her standout feature is, and always will be, the impressive tender bay that offers acres of space for custom-built tenders and toys making her a great Caribbean charter choice this winter.
On-board amenities
Worth Avenue Yachts will display the yacht Eminence a 78 metre Abeking & Rasmussen built superyacht from 2008. Here is a yacht that is most notable for her comprehensive line up of on-board amenities including a sea water pool and inflatable slide. The on-board cinema, spa, sauna, gym and expansive outdoor socialising spaces are always popular with guests. Despite being designed by Reymond Langton, 10 years or so ago, she remains a top charter choice this season.

Tri-deck motor yacht
The last must see on our list is Pure Bliss a listing from Camper & Nicholson. This 43.89m superyacht boasts an enviable toy chest and is well-equipped with an array of lifestyle amenities. She is a tri-deck motor yacht and her layout offers superior accommodation for up to 12 guests across seven en suite rooms. The accommodation comprises a master suite that’s located in prime position on the main deck, a VIP suite up on the sky deck and three guest doubles as well as two twins on the lower deck.
The yachts’ interior is traditionally styled in a classic, contemporary decor. African cherry wood is used throughout with Amboyna Burl wood accents and modern pops of colour. BI was built for efficiency and stability and has an exceptional volume for a yacht of her size. Having undergone a major refit in 2016, is in truly beautiful condition.
