After the success of Blue Wonderful with Sir Elton John in 2016, followed by Duran Duran’s Extraordinary World concert in 2017 the Ferretti Group in collaboration with the Yacht Club de Monaco and Maserati hosted an exclusive concert by Sting on Friday 7th September 2018
Called ‘Fields of Gold,’ a reference to one of his greatest hits, the show was designed to promote the Ferretti Group’s image and their ability to design out-of-the-ordinary yachts.
Fields of Gold, was a very private concert by Sting held in the YCM Marina for invited guests only
Twenty six Ferretti Group yachts were anchored for the occasion and the veteran music star was seen to leave the stage on board one of them.
On a stage erected on the water, facing the Yacht Club de Monaco, the British star performed mega hits from his extraordinary career as a solo artist, including Fields of Gold and Fragile, as well as classics from the repertoire of his old group, The Police, such as Roxanne.
After 90 minutes on stage, it was only natural for the internationally renowned artist to leave the stage by boat to applause from the 1,000 guests, almost drowned out by all the yachts in the YCM Marina blowing their horns.
“Sting is such an eclectic, sophisticated artist who has been wracking up hits for over 40 years, by performing them in his own inimitable musical style,” commented Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi.
“In keeping with our mission as a focus for activity in the harbour and our Monaco, Capital of Yachting project, we are delighted to kick-off the autumn season on the Côte d’Azur, just days before the Cannes Yachting Festival and the Monaco Yacht Show,” said Bernard d’Alessandri, General Secretary of the Yacht Club de Monaco.
Cannes Yachting Festival runs from 11until 16 September and the Monaco Yacht Show from 26 until 29 September
