Is the Princess Yachts R35 the most technologically advanced and significant sports yacht ever?
The highlight for many at the Cannes Yachting Festival and the Southampton Boat Show will be seeing Princess Yachts unveil their innovative and technically-advanced boat for the first time.
Demand to see the new craft has led to Princess manufacturing two launch boats simultaneously to enable two launch events to occur in parallel – its UK appearance will be co-ordinated with an unveiling at the Cannes Yachting Festival in the same week.
The R35 is a yacht born of a desire to combine all of Princess’s design and quality strengths with new engineering and design partnerships, technologies and materials.
As the world’s first R Class performance sports yacht, it’s only fitting that it will see its global launch happen simultaneously in Southampton and Cannes.
The R35 is designed and built in Plymouth, England and combines revolutionary performance capabilities, with race-bred technology to deliver a new Princess performance benchmark of up to 50 knots.
Not only is it the fastest-ever Princess yacht, but also sets new standards for on-water behaviour.
Its new foiling technology re-defines the traditional limits associated with drag, speed and handling.
With the exceptional performance delivered via the innovative Princess Active Foil System and carbon-fibre hull, the R35’s cabin and interior layout delivers luxurious surroundings to reflect Princess’s expectation that owners and occupants will have an increased desire to stay aboard.
Externally, the R35 reflects Princess’s renewed focus on elegance, purpose and an overall styling ambition where form and function are aligned: the R35 looks fast and focused even when moored.
Designed in partnership with world-famous Ben Ainslie Racing Technologies and legendary Italian styling house Pininfarina, the R35 is a powerful expression of intent from a company hitting a rich vein of form: Princess Yachts, renowned for British craftsmanship and engineering pedigree, is experiencing record financial results and order books as the R35 is brought to market.
