No one can accuse Abu Dhabi of not trying hard enough in its efforts to set up its own boat show
It tried once in 2009 and flopped after its second edition a year later.
Now it’s going to have another bash! A case of if at first you do not succeed then try try again!
The Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) has announced that the new show, set to run at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in October 2018, is already registering high uptake from prospective exhibitors and key stakeholders within the marine industry.
The show will take place at ADNEC Marina, which includes a six-metre deep channel enabling ships of all sizes to berth alongside an extensive purpose-built 31,000-square-metre show marina.
ADNEC is committed to growing its already impressive portfolio of wide-ranging, and industry-specific events. A boat show will help consolidate the UAE capital’s status as a preferred destination for business tourism and modern luxury living in the marine and non-marine field alike.”
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of ADNEC, said: “With over 30 per cent of the Marina berths already sold, the event is well on track to becoming the largest-ever gathering of boats and water sports equipment in Abu Dhabi. Showcasing cutting-edge technology and innovation in the marine industry, the exhibition will offer a unique networking platform for marine professionals to meet and discuss best practices as well as marine luxury and retail trends.”
Gregor Stinner, CEO of ART Marine an UAE-based yacht dealership and marina operator, said: “We are pleased to confirm our attendance at the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show 2018. As a business, our operations go beyond the UAE to reach customers in every market where we have a presence. There is no better way to connect with yachting enthusiasts than participating in events on the maritime calendar. The Abu Dhabi International Boat Show offers a great opportunity for promoting yacht sales to an international client base.”
In March this year, ADNEC announced the ratification of a partnership agreement with British Marine Boat Shows, a subsidiary of British Marine, as part of its efforts to ensure a successful event. British Marine also runs the London Boat Show, held at ExCeL London an event venue wholly owned by an ADNEC subsidiary and the better attended Southampton Boat Show.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri noted that the collaboration underpins ADNEC’s efforts to deliver a well-rounded exhibition showcasing internationally acclaimed marine technology.
