Very few movie going, yacht lovers will need to be reminded of the scene in the 007 film Skyfall when the fated heroine Severine looks seductively at Bond in a Macau casino, saying “When I leave they’re going to kill you. If you survive, I’m on the Chimera, North harbour, berth seven.” Bond stops long enough only to dispose of some nasty looking baddies before moments later, sliding aboard the superyacht, entering the master stateroom and joining Severine in the shower.
The part of Chimera was played by the 56-metre schooner Regina a yacht now available for sale for £7.7 million through Nice based brokers Engel & Völkers Yachting.
Shortly after her launch in 2011 she was featured in the 50th anniversary James Bond movie sailing to Hashima Island, Japan carrying 007 and Bond Girl Bérénice Marlohe with her.
The on-screen voyage showcased the classic sophistication of life on-board.
The classically styled high performance ocean-going schooner, built by Med Yachts in 2011 has been designed with elegance, romance and space is fully MCA compliant.
Heavily varnished timber is prominent both on deck and below, all of which brings a strong nautical flavour to the high level of luxury offered on board.
The main salon features a formal dining area, two sumptuous sofas and, as a piéce de resistance, a highly-polished white grand piano.
The interior design is filled with mahogany, marble and onyx with space for up to twelve people on board in six spacious cabins all of which are presented with a level of comfort that is comparable with the best hotels.
The master cabin extends across the yacht’s entire 9.5 metre beam. It includes a king-size bed and a separate small salon, furnished with a comfortable sofa. A VIP guest cabin is located further forward and there are also two double and twin guest cabins.
Wide deck spaces great areas for relaxing both inside and out are a prominent feature and there are separate deck areas for sunbathing, alfresco dining both to the aft and forward.
