For our first few nights in Martinique we stayed in Hotel La Pagerie a low-key hotel surrounded by tropical gardens in Trois Ilets. The modern rooms with colourful accents (think electric pink!) have wood furnishings, and come with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. All include fridges, coffeemakers and balconies. Some rooms (but not ours) have kitchenettes.
We then transferred to a very quaint centre of city hotel in walking distance to the superyacht dry dock area
In the heart of Fort-de-France, facing the beautiful park de la Savane, Hotel L’Impératrice, has charm and character that is synonymous with elegance and Creole authenticity.
A product of the 50s, with balconies overlooking the bay it is unpretentious yet supremely comfortable.
The original woodwork and tiles, Creole furniture and collections have all been preserved to give the hotel a warm, intimate atmosphere of bygone era.
