Located in St Lucia inside the UNESCO World Heritage Site, overlooking the Pitons and the Caribbean Sea is the delightful Ladera Resort
Perched on the Soufriere Volcano in the style of a hanging village, it nestles one thousand feet above an intensely blue Caribbean Sea which dashes against the volcanic Piton Mountains.
Standing still over looking this scene of great beauty, faintly scented tropical breezes cool your skin.
Over two decades ago, Ladera pioneered the concept of the open-air, three-walled guest suite that remains its signature design. Suites, each deliberately built without a fourth wall, offer astonishing views, of the mountains and the sea below. Some like ours have windows in the back wall that overlook the rain forest. Talk about a double whammy!
Each suite boasts a private plunge pool and locally made four-poster beds made of polished tropical hardwood bedsteads that are adorned with fine linens. Ladera prides itself on its handcrafted furniture made by local artisans and our Villa was the most perfect place in which to chill and relax.
Fresh well cooked locally inspired Caribbean cuisine at Dasheen, the resorts restaurant, make this a destination for people staying in other resorts nearby but fortunately guests staying here always take priority.
