Until now, owners of large performance cruising multihulls have had limited options to take part in regattas within the Mediterranean area. Now a new large yacht regatta this summer is set to put this to right.
To be called the MultihullCup, it will be culmination of years of experience with high performance cruising multihulls and is designed for performance multihulls over 15 metres.
The new regatta will offer owners of larger powerful cruising catamaran and trimaran yachts the chance to take part in a racing event designed specifically for their craft.
The inaugural regatta will be held between 18th and 20th September in the sailing mecca of South West Mallorca. Taking advantage of the easy access and reliable breeze the regatta is to be based at the Port Adriano Superyacht marina.
Rob Grimm, the organiser said: “We already have a number of interesting multihulls signed up to take part in this event, and look forward to creating not just a new regatta, but a new community of multihull cruisers and performance yachting enthusiasts.”
