Alice Huisman Steps Aside at Royal Huisman

She stepped into the role of Managing Director of Royal Huisman when her father Walter died some 10 years ago now Alice Huisman has announced she is to step aside.

The Dutch shipyard was recently acquired by Dutch ferry operator Royal Doeksen, a family owned company founded in 1908.

In her place as Managing Director the new owners have appointed Mr. Roemer

Boogaard formerly Executive Director of KNRM (the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution)

Former Dutch Royal Navy officer Boogaard joined KNRM in 1997 and was appointed Executive Director in 2007.

Alice Huisman will now take a role as Executive Director alongside Chairman Jan Willem Doeksen where she will focus on business development, marketing and client relationships.

At the same time, she will be on hand to offer her successor advice and support based on her

The announcement was timed to coincide with the Dutch Boating Industry’s HISWA Yacht Valley Tour. Aimed solely at magazine editors the tour around superyacht shipyards is an occasion when invited delegates are wined and dined at superyacht shipyards all over Holland.

Royal Huisman is a HISWA Member and one of the companies hosting the extravaganza
